HT Youth Newsletters

October 2016 HTYouth Newsletter

cropped-HT-Logo.jpgOctober is here! As the new year progresses into October, our youth ministry gets into the swing of things. All of our current youth ministry programs will have started after Thursday October 6, with the beginning of HT Young Adults.

This group for adults aged 18-35 will be a varied activity. Some weeks we could have a bible study, or a guest speaker on a specific topic relevant to our young adults. Whatever we are doing, the goal is to provide an opportunity for young adults to continue forming their faith and build community with their peers at our parish. There’ll be monthly social activities for the group as well.

Along with this group, all of our other ministry programs will be continuing through the fall. This past September, Challenge and Conquest kicked off their year with a giant game of “Human Hungry Hungry img_1900-2Hippos” (Seen here!————>)  As well, the first EDGE meeting started at JPII school, and Life Teen has starting its semester on Social Justice.

Upcoming this month are more activities for Holy Trinity’s youth, including Life Teen’s “Turkey Shoot!” (in which the teens chase leaders dressed as turkeys with Nerf guns), and trip to the Corn Maze with Challenge and Conquest, and the Life Teen Fall Retreat, titled “Timeless”.

October’s Youth Activities:
October 2 – Life Night: “Protect This House”
October 6 – HT Young Adults
October 9 – Life Night: “Turkey Shoot!”
October 11 – EDGE at STA (ECSRD students only)
October 12 – Challenge Girls/Conquest Boys Club Meeting
October 14, 15, 16 – “Timeless” Life Teen Retreat
October 19 – Challenge Girls/Conquest Boys: Edmonton Corn Maze Trip
October 20 – HT Young Adults
October 23 – Life Night: “Misericordia”
October 25 – EDGE at JPII (ECSRD students only)
October 26 – Challenge Girls/Conquest Boys Club Meeting
October 30 – Life Night: “Work the Work”

Special Announcements:
1. Holy Trinity’s youth ministry still needs some more volunteers! The Challenge Girls Club is in need of adult leaders, and the Conquest Boys need more high-school-aged Team Leaders. These two different roles in the Challenge/Conquest Clubs are different and important – with adults bringing a supervisory element, and Team Leaders working as role models for their younger peers.

2. If you haven’t submitted a registration form for Life Teen, Challenge, or Conquest, please do so ASAP. These forms are required for youth to participate in youth programs.

Hello! I hope that everyone had a fun and restful summer. As we begin this new school year, I wanted to post the first of Holy Trinity’s HT Youth Newsletters. Hopefully, this will be a great way for our parishioners to keep updated on what is going on with Holy Trinity’s youth ministry! Each monthly newsletter will have a little calendar with dates to know, and special announcements (like the one about the LifeTeen Fall Retreat!) I’d like to add more to these throughout the year.

For the beginning of the year, however, here is a little run-down on all of our youth groups starting up this fall:
